TOPICAgree or disagree; The Japanese government should do more to reduce food waste.

POINTS

・food companies
・consumers
・expiration date
・cost

Mie

I agree with this idea that the Japanese government should do more to do reduce food waste. I have two reasons to support my opinion.

First, it is bad for the environment to burn the food waste and lead to global warming. If the Japanese government should appeal consumers to reduce more food waste by putting up a poster etc. in the restaurant, they should order the amount of dishes that they can eat.

Second, they can save the money by understanding a difference between expiry date and expiration date. Since there are many people who don’t know those differences, many of them throw away the food that they can eat. Therefore, the Japanese government should instruct the food companies to show the difference clearly so that they don’t mistake it.

Because of all the reasons above, I think that the Japanese government should do more to reduce food waste

(150 words)

I agree with this idea that the Japanese government should do more to do reduce food waste. I have two reasons to support my opinion.

First, it is bad for the environment to burn the food waste and lead to global warming.←食品廃棄物を燃やすとなぜ温暖化につながるのか? If the Japanese government should appeal encourages consumers to reduce more food waste by putting up a posters etc.  in the restaurants, they should will order the amount of dishes that they can eat.(起こる確率の高い未来について言いたい時は、If 主語+動詞現在形, 主語 will ~

Second, they←誰のこと?the government? Consumers?can save the money by understanding a difference between expiry date and expiration date.お金の節約は関係ないのでは?)Since there are many people who don’t do not know those differences, many of them throw away the food that they can eat. Therefore, the Japanese government should instruct the food companies to show the difference clearly so that they don’t cannot mistake it.

Because of all the reasons above, I think that the Japanese government should do more to reduce food waste.

don’t, can’t

don’t → do not
can’t → cannot

etc.

for example を文頭につけたり、例の後ろに and so on.

Body

First, it is bad for the environment to burn food waste. Since food waste contains a lot of moisture, it needs a lot of fuel to burn it. Also, it can emit harmful gases and lead to global warming. Therefore, the Japanese government should promote consumer education to reduce garbage.

Today, two types of “dates” are used in Japan about food freshness: expiry dates and expiration dates. It is so confusing that people cannot recognize a difference between them and throw away food that is still edible. Therefore, the Japanese government should instruct the food industry to make clear displaying methods for consumers.

Mie
