英検準1級の予想トピックを使って英作文を書いてみましょう。今回のトピックは以下の通りです。

Topic: Do you think space travel will become common in the future?
将来、宇宙旅行は普通のことになると思いますか？

今回はこのトピックで「賛成」サイドの英作文を書いてみましょう。

トピックの概要

宇宙に関するトピックです。皆さんは宇宙旅行はまだまだ先のことだと思いますか？今2020年ですが、実はもう既に宇宙旅行は実現可能な段階に来ています。

F.I.N.というメディアに、宇宙旅行の現状についてまとめられていました。その記事によると、現在可能な宇宙旅行は以下のようなものだそうです。

この記事によると、現在可能な宇宙旅行は以下の通り。

• 高度100kmまで上がる宇宙旅行が既にテスト段階
• アメリカのバージンギャラクティック社が既に宇宙旅行を販売。700名が予約済み。
• 旅行費用は約3000万円
• 3日間のトレーニング後、高度100kmまで50分間のフライト。宇宙空間で4分間の無重力を体験できる。
• 18歳以上の健康な人が参加可能。

高度100kmは地球の大気圏からちょっと出たところくらいです。しかし、その高度まではもう既に到達可能になっているのですね。驚くべきことです。

いずれもっと先まで行けるようになり、太陽系の中を自由に旅行できる日が来るのかもしれません。

このような現状を踏まえて、「宇宙旅行が将来一般的になる」という賛成意見をまとめてみました。

宇宙旅行についての賛成意見

未知への旅は人間の本質的な欲求である

It is human nature to want to explore the unknown. Just like people started traveling around the globe thousands of years ago, it is no wonder that ordinary people will start traveling in outer space in the near future.

未知のものを探求したいのは人間の本質です。 何千年も前に人々が世界中を旅し始めたように、近い将来、人々が宇宙空間を旅し始めるても不思議ではありません。

宇宙旅行は巨大産業になり、価格も下がる

Multiple governments and businesses are expecting that space exploration business will become a big industry. The more businesses that enter the space travel market, the cheaper travel costs will become. As a result, space travel will become more affordable for ordinary people.

複数の政府や企業が宇宙探査事業が大きな産業になることを期待しています。 より多くの企業が宇宙旅行市場に参入すればするほど、旅行費用は安くなります。 その結果、宇宙旅行は一般の人々にとって手の届く価格になるでしょう。

既に宇宙ツアーが販売されている

Thanks to the advancement of technology, space travel is no longer a sci-fi story. The fact is that some companies have been selling space travel tours and at least hundreds of people already booked flights.

第二に、技術の進歩のおかげで、宇宙旅行はもはやSFの話ではなくなりました。 事実、一部の企業は宇宙旅行を現在販売しており、少なくとも何百人もの人々がすでにフライトを予約しています。

英作文例

以上、３つの理由を述べました。今回のトピックは理由がかなりしっかり書けたので、つなげるだけで英作文の完成形ができそうです。一つ目をIntroduction、その後の理由をBodyにして、少し体裁を整えて、ひとつの英作文にしました。

Secondly, thanks to the advancement of technology, space travel is no longer a sci-fi story. The fact is that some companies have been selling space tours and at least hundreds of people already booked flights. To sum up, space travel will be more common in the future thanks to the research and development of the technology. (142語）
